Setanta is also running a Cup Final event centre on Setanta.com featuring action roundups, fan blogspots, behind-the-scenes videos, Flickr photo galleries and Twitter feeds from presenters, fans and celebrities.
It’s the first time the broadcaster has provided live tweeting of a sporting event.
Timothy Ryan, marketing director at Setanta, said the commentweeter aimed to provide fans with the full experience of the FA Cup Final by combining traditional TV viewing with a modern twist.
Jon Champion said: “As a commentator you want to communicate with people in a way that helps them enjoy the game as much as possible. If becoming a ‘commentweeter’ is going to help do that, then I think this is a great idea.”
