Huge Earthquake rocked Java Island in Indonesia

"A 7.3 Earthquake hits Java Island (Indonesia) approximately around 02:55:02 pm local time. Anyone has relative or friends that experience this massive earthquake? We are also still waiting for the damage report.

The quake was centered 242 km (150 miles) from the capital, Jakarta, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

Indonesia is located in the Pacific Ring of Fire. About 90% of the world’s earthquakes and 80% of the world’s largest earthquakes occur along the Ring of Fire. The next most seismic region (5–6% of earthquakes and 17% of the world’s largest earthquakes) is the Alpide belt, which extends from Java to Sumatra through the Himalayas, the Mediterranean, and out into the Atlantic."

There were no immediate reports of casualties or damages.

A series of quakes, ranging in magnitude from 6.7 to 4.7, struck off the western coast of Indonesia's Sumatra Island last month.
The quakes were recorded in the Kepulauan Mentawai region, a chain of islands popular with surfers.
